St. Louis Showed Up to Support PRG at the 2022 Ignite the Fight Event
Over 325 People Gathered at 18Rails for an Unforgettable Night.
On October 7th, 18Rails, the new venue space at the City Foundry, was filled with pink as St. Louis came together for the Pink Ribbon Girls Ignite the Fight event.
As guests arrived they had the opportunity to purchase a glass of champagne and be entered into a drawing for an Adam Foster necklace, learn all about various cheeses as they sampled from an extravagant charcuterie table and bid on a variety of silent auction items.
Dinner was catered by Butler’s Pantry and as the meal ended, guests were inspired by personal stories from two women PRG has had the pleasure to serve.
Kim Kelsey spoke about how Pink Ribbon Girls stepped in to help when her plans dramatically changed when her husband and caregiver suffered his own health crisis just days before she was scheduled to have her surgery.
Jen Myers Farmer then shared her tremendous wisdom from her journey as someone battling metastatic breast cancer. Jen reminded everyone to “say yes” as often as possible, even when it seems like a crazy idea. These two wonderful women touched our hearts with their stories, everyone in the room was hanging on their every word.
We are so grateful to everyone who helped us raise over $400,000 that evening so that Pink Ribbon Girls can continue to ensure that our St. Louis area clients and their families fighting breast and gynecological cancers will not travel this road alone. We will be with them offering vital support including free healthy meals, rides to treatment, house-cleaning essentials, peer support and education.
Thank you to all of our sponsors who helped make the event a huge success. Especially Bommarito Construction, Schnucks, Jim Shekelton and Lesley Shekelton and SSM Health.
