‘Pickled Pink’ pickleball tourney raises 10K for PRG

Katie Corrigan knew she wanted to give back to Pink Ribbon Girls after navigating her own cancer journey. She was fortunate to have a solid support system, but she couldn’t imagine having to go through that battle alone.

That’s how Katie decided to plan a fundraiser involving the sport she loves and PRG – an organization that’s mission is to provide free vital services to anyone battling breast or gynecological cancers.

Katie organized a pickleball tournament – called “Pickled Pink” – that took place on Nov. 5 at Vetta Racquet Sports West in St. Peters. The event drew a crowd of around 100 competitors and spectators and raised more than $10,000 to help support PRG families battling breast or gynecological cancers in the St. Louis region.

“During my journey, I was so blessed to have an amazing support system through family and friends,” Katie says. “I couldn’t have survived without them, and it broke my heart to think of others fighting who didn’t have that support. I was thrilled to hear about PRG and all that you do!”

Katie learned of Pink Ribbon Girls through Siteman, and she was instantly moved by PRG’s mission. The proceeds raised through Katie’s Pickled Pink tournament will provide more than 1,000 meals to PRG clients and their families, making it one of the year’s most successful third-party events in the St. Louis region.

We appreciate Katie and all that she does to support Pink Ribbon Girls!
