Columbus Beer Run
We experienced such a beautiful morning during the Columbus Beer Run benefiting Pink Ribbon Girls this past Saturday morning presented by Hofbräuhaus Columbus. The bright smiles and positive energy were shared by all participants and volunteers throughout the morning. Some heartfelt stories were shared about: How many ways breast cancer or gynecological cancer has touched their lives; how PRG never stopped giving to those in need, even during this recent health crisis; how PRG continued to be there for them and their families during their own battles.
We came together to support each other. We celebrated survivorship milestones, raised glasses and shed a few tears for those who couldn’t be with us. One survivor shared her immense gratitude for PRG’s peer support services. As she said, “On my worst days, I’d hop on a virtual peer support call, and it transformed my day and left me with hope in my heart and a smile on my face. I love what PRG is doing for so many of us and I enjoy connecting with those on a similar journey.”
A special shoutout to our volunteers. They showed up and they were PRGStrong! Our volunteers came from near and far; they were our family, our friends, our neighbors, and our healthcare providers. Tina LaPaglia, a local radiation therapist, shared, “As a healthcare provider working with breast cancer patients, it is so amazing for me to see the services that Pink Ribbon Girls provides directly to our patients. They are able to provide for the patient’s well-being in a way that we are not always able to. Being a part of their volunteer team for the last four years has been one of the most rewarding experiences in my 27-year career with cancer patients.”
It was such a special day… a very special day!
