Job title: Columbus Transportation Specialist
Reports to: Transportation Coordinator
Job purpose
Transports clients to and from appointments in a safe, timely manner while supporting the PRG mission and balancing the fear and uncertainty that breast cancer and other women’s reproductive cancers bring to individuals and families. Transportation occurs from door to door. All employees are expected to be courteous, helpful and patient toward clients.
Duties and responsibilities
Drivers are expected to transport clients to and from treatment in a timely, caring manner.
Confirmation call to clients to pick up
Communication with office on a regular basis
Provide door to door transportation
Assist clients in process of boarding
Assist clients in process of being seated to include seatbelt if needed
Must provide physical support or assistance and verbal directions to clients
Stow mobility aids such as canes, oxygen tanks, IV’s walkers, folding wheelchairs, and crutches.
Confirm client destination prior to vehicle departure
Follow state laws concerning seat belts and child
All other duties assigned
Qualifications
The qualifications that are necessary to be considered for this position include:
Valid driver’s license
Good driving record
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Proficient with navigation
Working conditions
This position requires employee to be able to maintain a neat vehicle and assist clients in a patient and timely manner.
Physical requirements
Position requires employee to physically assist clients in and out of vehicles and into treatment facilities. Requires the employee to be able to sit in a vehicle for long periods of time.
